5 Simple Steps to Arrive With Your Pet
We’ve streamlined the entire process to make it simple for you and your pet. From the first call to settling in, we guide you step by step—helping with preparation, travel, arrival, and daily care—so you can focus fully on your recovery while your pet stays safe and supported.
- Step 1 – Chat With Admissions: It starts with a confidential conversation. You’ll talk with our admissions team about your situation and your pet. We’ll ask about your pet’s health, temperament, vaccination status, and past behavior with other animals and people—and answer all of your questions.
- Step 2 – Pack and Prepare: Once you’re approved to bring your pet, we send a simple Pet Intake Checklist so you know exactly what to bring: food, medications, vaccination records, favorite bedding, leash, collar/harness, and a few comfort items.
- Step 3 – Travel, Handled: You don’t have to figure out logistics alone. Our team can help coordinate door-to-door travel for you and your pet—by commercial air, ground transport, or private options when appropriate. For short-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds that may not be eligible to fly, we’ll explore safe alternatives such as ground transport or private air.
- Step 4 – Settle In Together: When you arrive in Huntington Beach, you and your pet will be greeted warmly and shown to your room. We’ll give you both a tour of the pet-friendly spaces, introduce you to the fenced dog run, and show you nearby walking areas and beach access. Our goal is to help both of you feel at home as quickly as possible.
- Step 5 – Start Healing: You begin your treatment schedule—detox, residential, or other programming—while we support your pet’s daily needs. Your pet stays with you, and we help you integrate them into a healthy, structured daily routine.

A Day in the Life - Healing Together
- Morning: You start the day with a walk or light play in the 3-acre fenced dog run behind the homes, or a supervised stroll to a nearby dog-friendly beach and beachside dog park. Your dog stretches their legs, and you both get fresh air and a sense of normalcy.
- Late Morning to Afternoon: You attend group therapy, individual sessions, medical appointments, and other parts of your treatment schedule. During this time, your pet rests in your room or enjoys supervised time outside. Our staff help with walks and potty breaks when you’re in session.

He completed his residency in psychiatry in 2008 from Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in New York, where fifty percent of his rotations were at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. After his residency he worked at Ventura County Medical Centers in an adult out-patient setting and now lives in Orange County, California.
